Project Details

Iron Realms Entertainment creates some of the most popular MUD games on the planet including Achaea, Aetolia, Imperian, and Lusternia.

Aetolia is one of IRE's most popular games, garnering an audience of several thousand players per day. When we were commissioned to develop their website, the branding became the first component and would shape the design of the rest of the material.

Aetolia is the darkest of IRE's games and this shows in its storyline as well as it's characters. One of the main symbols used in the website was the gargoyle and it was decided to use a gargoyle silhouette but also having it flanking and masking the moon while perched atop a stylized mountain. The typography is simple using the tag line to form a block which anchors the symbol well.
